Renowned Cardiologist Dr C N Manjunath while addressing the 'HAL Medicon 2022', the National Conference for doctors of HAL on the theme, 'Ensuring Healthy Workforce' that in the coming years every fourth death will be due to Cardiovascular Diseases (CVD). According to him, by 2030, we will see the highest number of deaths due to cardiac deaths because heart issues are growing more among the young and middle-aged population.

Several studies have shown that coronavirus can enter the heart and infect the inner lining of the heart leading to a heart attack.
